The FY series is an API VS4 vertical sump pump designed for handling corrosive liquids in tanks, reactors, and sumps. Flow up to 2600m³/h, head to 80m, temp -20°C to +180°C. Materials include carbon steel, 304, 316L, 904, Lewmet Alloy, 20 Alloy and fluoroplastic. No mechanical seal – eliminates leakage. Ideal for acids, alkalis, and chemical wastewater. ISO certified.

FY Series API VS4 Vertical Sump Pump – Submerged Design, Zero Leakage

Submerged impeller eliminates need for shaft seal – no leakage, no seal maintenance. Long shaft spans allow installation in deep tanks up to several meters. Fluoroplastic lining option provides exceptional resistance to strong acids (HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃) and alkalis. Heavy-duty bearings support extended cantilever design. API VS4 compliant.

API VS4 is a vertical sump pump standard defined by API 610 for petrochemical and refinery services. The FY series complies with this standard, ensuring robust construction, long shaft cantilever design, and reliable operation in demanding hazardous liquid applications.
How does the seal-less design work?
The FY pump has no mechanical seal or packing. The impeller is submerged directly in the pumped liquid, and the motor is mounted above the tank. Liquid is prevented from reaching the bearing housing by a dynamic seal or throttle bushing. This eliminates leakage risks entirely.
What materials are best for handling strong acids like sulfuric or hydrochloric acid?
For strong acids, we recommend fluoroplastic (e.g., PVDF, PTFE) lining or solid fluoroplastic construction. This material offers exceptional resistance to almost all acids, alkalis, and solvents at temperatures up to 105°C. For less aggressive chemicals, 316L stainless steel is a cost-effective option.
Can this pump handle liquids with small solid particles?
What is the maximum sump depth this pump can be installed in?
The maximum installation depth depends on the specific model and shaft length. Generally, our FY pumps can accommodate sump depths from 1 to 4 meters. Custom longer shafts are available upon request. Please specify your tank depth when ordering.
