Use Cases

Applications

Critical High-Temperature Fluid Handling for Power, Chemical, Heating & Recovery Systems The HPK series high-temperature pump is specifically designed for continuous operation with hot water and thermal oils, where standard pumps would fail due to thermal stress.

  • Power Generation & Cogeneration

Ideal for boiler feed water, high-temperature circulating water, heat recovery systems, and district heating networks (150–280°C).

  • Chemical & Petrochemical Industry

Perfect for high-temperature reactor circulation, thermal oil transfer (up to 400°C with special seals), and distillation system heat medium circulation.

  • Metallurgy & Textile

Suitable for rolling furnace water circulation, printing/dyeing high-temperature hot water, and waste heat utilization systems.

  • District Heating

Reliable for primary loop circulation pumps in centralized heating systems (120–180°C, 1.6–2.5 MPa).

  • Industrial Waste Heat Recovery

Effective for kiln/flue gas waste heat recovery and closed-loop heat medium transfer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum continuous operating temperature of the HPK pump?
The standard HPK pump is designed for continuous operation with liquid temperatures from 100°C to 280°C. With upgraded metallurgy and specialized mechanical seals, we can support applications up to 400°C for thermal oil service. Please specify your exact temperature requirement for proper configuration.
What sealing system is used for high-temperature applications?
The HPK series uses balanced single or double mechanical seals with external flush plans (typically Plan 11, 21, or 23). For applications above 200°C, we recommend dual mechanical seals with a cooling quench to prevent coke formation and ensure long seal life.
How is the pump protected from thermal expansion damage?
The HPK pump features an expansion compensator on the casing and a flexible shaft coupling that accommodates axial thermal growth. High-temperature gaskets and fasteners are used throughout, and the centerline-mounted casing allows uniform expansion without distortion.
Can this pump handle thermal oils like Dowtherm or Therminol?
Yes. The HPK series is fully compatible with synthetic thermal oils. For these applications, we recommend double mechanical seals with a suitable flush plan, cast steel or stainless steel construction, and specialized gasket materials. Please confirm your specific thermal oil and operating temperature when ordering.
What voltage options are available for high-power HPK pumps?
The HPK series is available with motors configured for 380V (50/60Hz) or 6kV high-voltage operation, with power up to 450kW. For larger installations, 10kV options may be available upon request. Please provide your power supply specifications and required motor power for precise matching.
